New Chapter Book Series coming!

I've been working on a new chapter book series for young readers. I absolutely love writing chapter books, and my Hay Days and Barn Cat rescues are so well-received, I thought I'd write another series. This one isn't about animals. Well, who am I kidding, there are animals, but they aren't the main characters.

In my adult fantasy line, I have a story about a girl that has no magic in a world where everyone gets one type of magic. Wren gets in trouble because she has no magic. I enjoyed creating that world so much that I thought it would be a good opportunity to create a series for young readers about the kids in the classroom with Wren when she was younger. As of now, Wren doesn't have her own story in the young reader world... yet. It might come.

I have three books completed. Book one has illustrations and waiting on book two and three. I'm trying to decide if I should try to present this series to an agent or self-publish like the other two series. Torn between those options. I see the pros and cons of both and being represented by traditional publishers in the past and present, I'm not sure if I really want to go that route. Not to say if Scholastic called me tomorrow and asked to publish my books that I wouldn't jump up and down for joy... but the reality is a little less grand.

But I'm really looking forward to getting this out into the world, and I'm excited to see how the kids like reading this compared to my past books. Are my kids interesting enough? Are their challenges realistic and compelling? Only time will tell.

 Stay tuned for more details!

Happy holidays and read on!
